A chestnut horse pulls a two-wheeled cart toward us, driven by a man in a blue jacket and a black hat who holds a long whip, beside an older passenger wrapped in a dark coat and cap, the road and the air behind them dissolving into grey-blue haze. European School means the painter is not identified, and the period is what the picture itself tells us.
