Up for sale is a original handwritten antique general store account ledger daybook dating to 1903–1904. This manuscript features hundreds of handwritten entries detailing everyday turn-of-the-century commerce, personal accounts, and store transactions.
Contents: Detailed line items for goods sold including sugar, beans, oil, coffee, tea, crackers, brooms, rubbers, oilcloth, and rent payments. Named individuals include Mary A. Surline (Augusta, Maine), Charles S. Burrell, Bernard Morrison, Walter Wright, and various local residents. Includes several loose laid-in receipt notes.
Condition: Fair to good antique condition. Solid binding with tight spine cloth. Covers display age-related toning, corner wear, and handling marks. Pages show expected age-toning and ink cross-outs from settled accounts, but remain fully legible and intact. Please see photos for exact condition.
