This is an amazing piece of US history from the height of the pre-World War I era! This particular teapot was manufactured by the iconic Reed & Barton to be used by the legendary Rector's Restaurant in New York City. Rector's, which opened on Broadway in 1899, was the grandest and most famous of the Turn-of-the-Century Broadway "Lobster Palaces." It was a glittering epicenter of high society, theater icons, and millionaires during the Gilded Age. "Silver Soldered": This stamp indicates heavy-duty commercial construction. Unlike typical household silverplate, silver-soldered items were built with extra-thick layers of nickel silver and reinforced joints to withstand the extreme wear and high-temperature dishwashers of luxury hotels, steamships, country clubs, or railway dining cars.
