Antique Judy Toys Wooden Inlay Puzzle – Circa 1930Wonderful early wooden inlay puzzle produced by Judy Toys / The Judy Company of Minneapolis, Minnesota, dating to approximately 1930.The puzzle depicts a scene from the historic Little Black Sambo story, showing the child alongside a brightly painted tiger with an umbrella held by the tiger’s curled tail. The puzzle features individually cut wooden pieces set into a solid wooden tray with a textured backing.This particular puzzle design has been documented in the Little Black Sambo Collection at Washington University Libraries Special Collections, where an example is attributed to Judy Toys and dated circa 1930.Condition: Antique pre-owned condition with age-appropriate wear throughout. There are scratches, scuffs, finish wear, paint loss and other signs of age and use, particularly on the painted pieces.
