Bali, Indonesia, 19th - early 20th century. Museum quality Kepeng Lama.Also called \"Thousand coin\" lamak / temple wall hanging. A piece such as this would be made by wealthy or aristocratic families for permanent display. The coins were minted during Qing dynasty in China (18th-19th century). These coins were found abundant in Bali due to the active commercial trading with the Chinese sea merchants, as well as well established Chinese communities that long resided on Bali.
