Up for sale is a stunning, authentic late-Victorian Solid Sterling Silver Pierced Bon-Bon Spoon/Server in the highly coveted \"Berkshire\" pattern (originally designed in 1897).

Unlike the vastly common silverplated versions of this pattern, this premium piece was masterfully crafted in solid .925 sterling silver by the renowned New England silversmiths Codding Bros. & Heilborn.

Markings:

The reverse side of the handle is clearly stamped with the manufacturer\'s official hallmark: \"C S & H\" alongside \"STERLING\" (guaranteeing 92.5% pure precious metal content).

Design & Utility:

This piece features a magnificent, wide 2.5-inch round bowl showcasing intricate pierced filigree scrollwork and a central floral repoussé motif. At a petite 4.5 inches in length, it was scaled beautifully for Victorian confectionery or bon-bon dishes. Its flat, openwork shape makes it an incredibly versatile modern server for delicate pastries, chocolates, sugar cubes, or small nuts.

Condition:

Excellent antique condition. The delicate openwork filigree wires are completely intact with no cracks, breaks, or structural damage.
