Signed copy. Very unusual book and there are pages in the very front in the introduction and table of contents that have not been cut so they are folded. This goes through throughout the first bit of the book but honestly, now that I’m looking at it it goes through all of the book. It’s a very sloppy bookbinding, but that might have a lot to do with the year that it was printed the signature says to Irene K Winstead, or Wixted from Dr. Culp.
Original Editions: First editions from 1925 are considered scarce collector's items
Because it was originally published by a university press (Teachers College, Columbia University) rather than a mass-market fiction publisher, the initial print run was relatively small and mostly distributed to university libraries, academics, and institutions. Finding a copy in very good or fine condition with its original dark blue cloth binding and intact spine labels is quite difficult.
