Beautiful antique French porcelain snuff or trinket box, dating to approximately the late 19th/early 20th century.
The small hinged box is pale blue and white colored with hand-painted floral decoration, gilt accents and decorative gilt-metal mounts with an ornate floral clasp. A delicate gilt sprig also decorates the interior of the lid.
The underside is hand marked “Made in France” along with a blue crossed-style mark. The decoration, construction and mark are consistent with Sèvres-revival porcelain associated with Samson & Cie of Paris; attribution to Samson is not guaranteed.
Measures approximately 2 1/4" long × 1 1/2" wide × 1 1/8" high.
Good antique condition with age-related wear to the gilding and metal mounts. Please examine all photographs carefully as they are part of the condition description. No cracks or chips. I did not clean it and may need a careful wipe.
I do combine shipping.
