This is NOT silverplate• Diamond-shaped French maker\'s mark (poinçon de maître) stamped on the back shoulder• French silver standard mark next to it - Minerva head for 950 / 800 silverBoth marks are worn from 150+ years of use but visible under magnification. • Pattern: Plain fiddle handle with engraved shell / foliate detail at tip• Maker: French - diamond lozenge maker\'s mark (letters worn from use)• Material: Solid Silver - tests as French 950 / 800 silver (Minerva head)• Age: Circa 1850s-1880s• Type: Dinner Fork - 4 tine• Construction: Heavy solid silver, not hollow or plated• Condition: Tarnished with patina, light surface scratches, tines straight. No monogram.
