Antique G.S.B. 4/4 Full Size Wooden Coffin Violin Case
Wonderful antique full-size 4/4 violin case with beautiful original age, wear and patina.
The interior retains the original G.S.B. “Original Improved” Trade Mark paper label, along with the corresponding G.S.B. impressed trademark stamped into the wood on the bottom of the case.
Also retains an old handwritten owner’s label that appears to read “Harry L. Waterman”, with additional writing that is partially worn and difficult to decipher.
Classic coffin-shaped wooden construction with black painted exterior, original hardware and remnants of the deep red interior lining.
The case shows significant authentic age and use, including scratches, finish loss, staining, worn lining, paper loss, old adhesive residue and general deterioration. Nothing has been refinished or restored.
A beautiful untouched antique piece with wonderful character and historical markings.
Case only – violin and bow are not included.
