Antique Ginger Jar | Famille Rose | Qing Dynasty | Late 19th Early 20th Century For Sale

Up for sale is an amazing antique Famille Rose, hand painted ginger jar. It is either late 19th or early 20th century Qing Dynasty period. The images depicted are awesome with vibrant colors, detailedartistry and a wonderful glaze. It stands approximately 8-3/4 inches tall and 8-3/4 inches at its widest and 5 inches wide from edge to to edge on the dry footing. Overall, the main body of work is in excellent condition. At the top where the lid sits I pointed out there are 2 small, thin hairline cracks in the ledgs where the wood lid sits. There is also what appears to be a very small chip. Upon feeling the chip it is as smooth as the rest of the glazed surface. So, it is possible that it was there when it was painted and glazed bu I cannot be certain of that. I\'ve had this a couple of years and didn\'t even notice until I was preparing to photograph and list it. On the base, along the inside of the dry footing are 2 chips. I pointed out in the pics which of the 2 appear to be the worst. Neither of those chips affect the structural integrity of the jar nor are they noticeable when viewing in its natural position. I also pointed out what is a very unique marking on the interior of the jar. It appears to be in the shape of a Rose. My research on the internet and the times I\'ve taken it to some people more knowledgeable than me on the subject cannot determine that is intentional or by chance. I would tend to leant that it is an intentional marking. I love this piece but it is time to let it go.Please feel free to as any questions and please check out my other items for sale.
