Beautiful pair of antique Art Nouveau pewter mini jardinières / cachepots made by H. L. & Co. (Henry Loveridge & Co.), Wolverhampton, England. Each piece is stamped on the bottom with the maker’s hallmark “H L & Co” in shield cartouches and the catalog pattern number 6457. These date to the late Victorian–early Edwardian period, approx. 1895–1910.
Both pieces feature deeply embossed Art Nouveau floral and shell motifs with a rolled, scalloped rim typical of Loveridge’s fine art metalwork. Each stands approx. 3.5 inches tall.
One jardinière includes one small side hole—original to the piece—indicating it was designed as a hanging version for wire or chain suspension. The other is the standard free-standing version. They are a matched pattern pair but handmade finishing gives them slight variations, which is common in early pewter.
These are lovely examples of English Art Nouveau metalwork and display beautifully on a shelf, desk, or in a collection of pewter or arts-and-crafts movement pieces.
