Antique Hand-hammered Copper Betty Lamp Oil Grease Crusie Maker Mark A:
$85.00
This antique hand-hammered copper Betty lamp, also known as a Crusie grease lamp, is a small original piece from the 1800s. Signed by the maker with an \"A\", this Americana style lamp was crafted in the United States, specifically in the Mid-Atlantic region. Early settlers filled these simple lamps with household grease or oil and used scrap cloth as a wick to light up their cabins. The copper color and primitive design as well as its excellent craftsmanship--most were make of cheap tin or rusty iron-- make it a unique and authentic addition to any antique collection, ready to hang from the hand-crafted copper hook.
