Unusual old handmade wooden axe / long-handled-tool storage and display rack with a dramatic semicircularfan-shaped form and approximately 12 radial tool positions. This is a genuinely old working object, not a modern reproduction. Construction details visible in the photographsinclude individually fitted radial wooden dividers, numerous old round-head/round-shank fasteners, coarsemilling/planing evidence, circular-sawmill kerf evidence on the back/bottom, and extensive age-related surface wear. The dark old finish has scratches, knocks, checking, edge losses, grime and worn areas consistent with longpractical use.The exact original workplace and maker are unknown. Previous research did not establish a documentedmanufacturer or locate a convincing identical example. Its form is consistent with specialized axe orlong-handled-tool storage/display in a working environment such as a logging operation, sawmill, forestry/tool room, railroad or industrial shop. It is being described conservatively rather than assigned to a specific company oroccupation without documentation.A striking piece for an antique axe or hatchet collection, logging/sawmill display, antique tool room, industrialcollection, or folk-art setting. Please study all photographs carefully; they are an important part of the condition description. No axes or other toolsare included.Sold as the antique wooden rack shown.
