Antique James Pott & Co. Holy Bible – Self-Pronouncing – Early 1900s
Beautiful old self-pronouncing Holy Bible published by James Pott & Co., New York, containing the Old and New Testaments.
One of the most interesting features is the handwritten presentation/ownership inscription inside dated “Xmas 1914,” giving this Bible more than 110 years of documented history. The book also features red page edges and a pronunciation guide for Biblical names.
The title page identifies it as:
• The Holy Bible – Old and New Testaments
• James Pott & Co., New York
• Nonpareil Self-Pronouncing
• Includes “Key to the Pronunciation of Proper Names”
This is an authentic, well-aged Bible with plenty of antique character. The original black cloth-covered boards and spine remain intact but show significant age-related wear, including surface loss, rubbing, staining, fraying at the corners/spine ends, and general binding wear. Interior pages show toning and occasional small tears/creases consistent with age. Please review all photos closely for the exact condition.
A great piece for an antique Bible collection, religious memorabilia collection, church-history display, genealogy collection, or vintage décor.
The Bible shown in the photos is the exact book you will receive.
