Beautiful antique Limoges porcelain charger featuring two elegantly dressed women visiting beside a rustic fence, surrounded by a softly rendered pastoral landscape. The scene is framed by a scalloped deep-green border with gold detailing. The plate measures approximately 13½ inches across and bears two Limoges France backstamps, including the circular LS&S mark associated with Lazarus Straus & Sons. Pieces with these marks are generally dated to the late 19th or early 20th century. The decoration also bears an artist’s signature that appears to read “Eross.”This charger belonged to my great-grandmother and has remained in our family for generations. I am now offering it for sale as part of a family downsizing. The plate displays beautifully but shows honest wear consistent with its age, including noticeable rubbing and loss to the green and gold decoration around the border, along with minor surface wear. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they are an important part of the condition description.A striking piece of antique French porcelain for a Limoges collection, Victorian-inspired room, gallery wall, or cabinet display.DETAILS:• Authentic Limoges porcelain made in France
