Antique Mandeville & King Co. Flower Seed Box (ca early 1900s):
$75.00
This seed box is a classic piece of early American retail history from Rochester, New York. These boxes served as "silent salesman" store counter displays. Seed companies would ship them directly to local general stores, pharmacies, or hardware establishments packed full of seed packets. The merchant would open the box and display it on a counter. This display box dates to the early 1900s, generally ranging from 1895 to 1920. The Mandeville & King Company was highly active during this late Victorian and early 20th-century era, famously specializing specifically in flower seeds. This seed box is in very good antique condition, but is missing its original interior tiered dividers. It measures 15 inches wide by 7 3/4 inches and is about 4 1/2 inches tall. The seed packets are included but aren't original to the box.
