Rare, authentic antique Japanese Satsuma, earthenware 19pc. tea set that feature Geisha girls and floral motif. - This set was made by the Hattori workshop and decorating studio during the Meiji period (1868-1912)
- Each piece features a finely crackled glaze and elaborate hand painted Geishas courtyard scenes, purple flowers, cascading Wisteria blossoms, vine and trees.
- Beautiful, heavy gold gilding and accents.
- Bamboo shaped handles.
- 1 - Teapot. Measures 6.5" tall.
- 1 - Sugar bowl with lid. Measures 4.5" tall.
- 1 - Creamer. Measures 4.5" tall.
- 5 - Tea cups. Each cup measures 3.5" in diameter and 2" deep. Each cup has an intricately and brightly painted interior butterfly.
- 5 - Saucers. Each saucer measures 5.5" in diameter.
- 6 - Small Saki cups. Each saki cup measures 2.5" in diameter and 1" deep.
- The entire set is in excellent condition. No chips, flea bites, cracks or hairlines. Paint and gold gilt are amazing. Very light staining on a few pieces. See photos for a better look.
