Antique Meissen Flower-Encrusted Porcelain Cup & Saucer
Beautiful antique porcelain cabinet cup and matching saucer, elaborately decorated with hand-applied three-dimensional flowers, roses, leaves and branches. Both pieces feature hand-painted scattered floral sprays, scalloped forms and hand-applied gold gilt trim.
The cup has an ornate branch-form handle and multiple raised feet accented with gilding. The saucer is similarly raised on multiple floral-decorated feet, making this a particularly decorative example.
Both the cup and saucer bear underglaze blue crossed-swords marks consistent with Meissen, along with impressed production marks visible on the undersides. The style of the crossed-swords marks and decoration is consistent with antique Meissen production, likely dating to the 19th to early 20th century.
Condition: Antique/pre-owned condition. The porcelain body appears very good overall from inspection. Please examine all photographs carefully as they form an important part of the condition description. Gilding shows age-related wear in places. No major cracks or repairs have been observed unless otherwise noted.
