Miniature Gilt period frame in original untouched surface, circa 1790-1830.
The gilding shows wonderful patina and has darkened in some areas over time - “old world” look and feel! Some wear from normal usage in being loved for over 200 years!
Nicely detailed molding with a slight concave two tiers - as an inner liner detailing ( the rounded molding cants /angles inward towards the opening of the frame ). So the molding slopes downward and then raises back up, and then slopes downward once again with a rounded detailing.
Gilt has wonderful oxidation and patina that only occurs after hundreds of years - this frame was an “old world look and feel” - from the years of loved usage.

Frame measures 6 1/4 inches x 5 1/4 inches, the window ( visible opening/sight ) is 4 1/4 inches x 3 1:4 inches, the rabbet is 5 inches x 4 inches. Molding is almost an inch in width. Frame is over 3/4 inch in depth.
Items of this age and fragile nature are most carefully wrapped and packed, and double boxed, and fully insured. Thus, the listed postage. Please note the USPS has increased shipping cost on packages once again, which is beyond my control.
