Beautiful antique French woven-silk Jacquard picture titled “Les Rameaux” (Palm Sunday), produced by Neyret Frères after the 1897 artwork by French artist Elisabeth Sonrel.The highly detailed woven image depicts two women in traditional religious dress and bears the “NF” Neyret Frères mark in the lower-left corner and “D’Après E. Sonrel” in the lower-right corner.Presented in a vintage gold-tone wooden frame with its original-style paper backing and hanging wire. A wonderful example of French textile art, sometimes referred to as a silk Stevengraph.Condition: Antique, pre-owned condition with age-related wear. The frame has light surface wear, and the paper backing has tears and deterioration around the edges. A few small light-colored marks are visible on the dark portion of the textile.
