Antique Ormolu Beveled Glass Casket Jewelry Box Gold Filigree French Style For Sale

Elegant antique jewelry casket featuring thick beveled glass panels set within an ornate ormolu-style gilt metal frame with finely engraved decoration. Raised on four decorative feet, the casket retains its original beveled glass lid and velvet-lined interior.

The thick beveled glass displays the subtle pale aqua edge commonly seen in older glass. Natural verdigris has developed on portions of the interior metalwork and the inside of the feet, consistent with age.

Condition: The glass is free of chips and cracks. The beveled glass lid has a few very light surface scratches visible only under close inspection. The hinged lid sits with a slight tilt when closed but opens and closes properly. I have not attempted to adjust the hinge to avoid placing unnecessary stress on the antique metalwork. The velvet lining remains clean and attractive. Overall, a well-preserved antique example with beautiful age-related patina.
