Add an unusual piece of antique Middle Eastern silver to your collection with this pair of Ottoman-style 800 silver sherbet or beverage spoons, featuring long twisted stems and elaborate openwork finials inspired by traditional Ottoman decorative metalwork. Both handles are clearly stamped “800,” indicating 800-fineness silver, or 80% silver content. One spoon features a conventional oval bowl, while the other has a distinctive round, coin-like bowl engraved with an Ottoman tughra-style imperial cipher, crescent-and-star imagery, and a scalloped border, giving the pair strong Turkish and Ottoman Revival character. Based on the silver standard, twisted stems, ornate terminals, and decorative motifs, these date approximately to the late 19th to early 20th century, circa 1890s–1920s, and were produced within the Ottoman Empire or Turkey. Their unusually long proportions are characteristic of decorative sherbet, iced beverage, or serving spoons intended for tall glasses and specialty drinks. Good antique condition with oxidation, patina, surface wear, and minor irregularities consistent with age and use.
