An exceptional piece of early American industrial history! This is an authentic, true antique pre-Prohibition (circa late 1800s to early 1900s) copper moonshine pot still. This historical vessel features its incredibly rare, original riveted brass federal warning plaque completely intact.
The plate reads: "The Federal Law Requires that this Still is to be Registered at the U.S. Revenue Collector Your District, Before Using Same."
Crafted with heavy-gauge copper, robust heavy rolled rims, twin cast brass lifting side handles, and a threaded brass top cleanout plug. This would have originally served as a stovetop or small furnace distilling pot. It features an incredible, uncleaned natural aged patina that only comes with a century of history.
An absolute powerhouse display piece for a rustic bar, industrial office, or historical Americana collection.
Condition: Genuine antique condition with marvelous rustic character. Features a prominent historical compression dent on one side of the body and expected structural surface oxidation near the lower seam, showcasing its decades of real-world use.
