Lovely 19th century folk art gameboard, checker or chess board. Several species of wood used, possibly several species of maple and others. It has an over the top, nicely finished beveled edge compared to more usual flat thin boards made during that time. On reverse side it appears to have another game board carved in. See photos, all sides and angles are shown. It measures 16\" x 15.5\" x 1.25\". Normal wear to wood and finish from age and use. There is a small shrinkage crack as shown on one corner, a few dings here and there. Would be a nice accent piece for your wall or use as intended.
