Antique Reed & Barton Sterling Silver Serving Spoon – 9\" – 59 Grams
Beautiful antique solid sterling silver serving spoon by Reed & Barton.
Measures approximately 9 inches long and weighs approximately 59 grams. The spoon has an unusual large oval serving bowl with decorative extensions along the sides and an elegant raised-design handle.
The reverse is engraved “O.E.C. 1873.” This appears to be an early presentation or commemorative engraving and adds a nice piece of history to the spoon.
Maker/patent markings are shown closely in the photographs. Reed & Barton produced numerous elaborate sterling serving pieces during this period, including examples marked with early patent wording. �

Condition is antique/pre-owned with tarnish, patina, scratches and normal surface wear from age and use. We have intentionally left the spoon in its present condition rather than aggressively polishing it.
