Ostby & Barton was an elite jewelry manufacturer based in Providence, Rhode Island. The company\'s co-founder, Engelhart Cornelius Ostby, famously perished during the sinking of the RMS Titanic in 1912. Pieces bearing the authentic OB hallmark are highly prized by collectors of antique jewelry and fraternal memorabilia.
The face of this solid 10K gold ring features a black onyx (chalcedony) inlay set with the brightly enameled emblem of the Modern Woodmen of America (MWA). The emblem displays the historic MWA symbols: the maple leaf, mallet, axe, and wedge. The setting is flanked by ornate scrollwork along the shoulders.

This piece is in well-preserved vintage condition. The MWA enamel detailing remains vibrant. The inside of the band displays a clear \"10K\" and \"OB\" hallmark (note a slight, age-appropriate rub on the bottom loop of the \"B\").
