Unsigned Robj dragonfly globe night light (traditionally known as a veilleuse). This beautiful and elegant Art Deco/Art Nouveau lamp appears to be designed and marketed by the famous Parisian firm Robj Paris, circa 1925, although it is unsigned.
True to the stylistic evolution from Art Nouveau into Art Deco, these miniature accent lamps served as a glowing night light or accent lamp on dressing tables, or by the bedside.
The lamp features a marmoreal globe shade, boasting rich, mottled gradients of blue and orange. The globe has a diameter of roughly 3.5 inches.
Genuine pieces feature a black enameled or etched signature \"Robj Paris\" directly on the glass, although many smaller pieces were either signed in enamel paint that flaked off due to heat or were left unsigned entirely.
The globe sits nestled inside a heavy, patinated bronze base intricately decorated with three distinct stylized dragonfly motifs that reach upward to secure the glassware. The design of the dragonflies correspond exactly to other authenticated Robj lamps.
The original cord has been replaced with vintage lamp cord and non-polarized plug that appears to be from the 1950\'s.
