DESCRIPTION
Antique double pan balance scale. Apothecary or mercantile scale. Probably found use in a general store, chemist laboratory or other commercial application. Solid brass, with a molded mahogany base. Complete set of six weights, weighing from 50 g. to 500 g. Scale is marked \"W. T. AVERY LTD / MAKERS / BIRMINGHAM.\" Also stamped \"CLASS B,\" indicating it was intended for ordinary trade use in shops, markets, warehouses, railroad depots, etc. Great Victorian or Edwardian scale.
