Antique W&T Avery Brass Scale Balance w/ Wood Base

Stack of 7 Brass Weights

Here is a nice Antique Balance Scale by W&T Avery for your buying consideration. Would make a great gift or keep for yourself!

The scale dates to the late 1800s to early 1900s period based upon the materials used and how the scale was constructed. The maker was W&T Avery and was made in Britain.

Nice brass lacquered pans, arm, saddles and tower. The pans show some brass lacquer loss from use. The wood base is intact, no cracks, splits, or repairs.

Both the pans are intact, some moderate loss of finish. The brass arm says, "W&T Avery" on it. We are selling this scale as an antique. The scale has not been tested for being operational or accurate, as it was in it's former useful life.

Nice stack of brass weights. There are 7 of them. The weight is noted on the inside of each of the weights.

The name of a previous owner is noted on masking tape on the bottom of the base of the scale.

The Antique Scale is 18.5" tall, by 15.75" across, by 8" wide. The larger pan is 7" across, the smaller one is 5" across. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures. The scale will be partially disassembled so that it can safely be shipped to you. So, expect to have to do some reassembly.
