The exterior features exquisite, crisp white bas-relief sprigging depicting the classical "Sacrifice to Apollo" neoclassical mythological scene, bordered by a beautifully detailed grape-and-vine garland along the rim.
Unlike purely decorative Jasperware pieces, this creamer features a factory-glazed interior designed specifically to safely hold cream, milk, or syrup without absorbing liquids or staining the porous stoneware body.
Dating & Authenticity:
The base is clearly incised with the antique block stamp "WEDGWOOD" along with individual worker marks (including an "S"). The complete absence of the word "England" or "Made in England" definitively dates this piece to the pre-1891 era, before the McKinley Tariff Act required country-of-origin marking.
Condition:
Excellent Antique Condition. The white relief work remains sharp, crisp, and fully intact with no missing elements, fractures, or major discoloration. The body is completely free of structural cracks, chips, or repairs.
