Vintage 19th Century Yellow Ware Scalloped Pudding Mold - 5.5\"
Up for sale is a beautiful, authentic piece of Americana kitchen history. This antique yellow ware utility pudding or jelly mold features a striking fluted, scalloped rim design with a tight swirl medallion pattern pressed into the center floor.
Its deep butter-yellow glaze is characteristic of traditional American yellow ware pottery from the late 1800s. With a 5.5-inch top diameter and a steep taper down to a narrow 2-inch footed base, this is a highly collectible smaller-sized individual or family portion mold.
Dimensions:
• Top Rim Diameter: 5.5\"
• Height: 3\"
• Base Foot Diameter: 2\"
Condition Report:
This item is in honest, time-worn primitive kitchen condition. It shows notable glaze chipping and minor flaking along the upper scalloped rim, which is very typical for utilitarian stoneware of this era. The unglazed foot rim shows dark, authentic carbon staining from historical placement on old wood or iron stoves. There are no structural cracks or major hairlines through the body.
Please note: Due to age and the potential presence of lead in historic glazes, this item is sold strictly as a decorative country kitchen display piece and is not recommended for food preparation.
Please review all photos carefully as they serve as the primary indicator of condition.
