Each clear pressed-glass bowl features oval medallions with a swimming swan, a finely textured mesh/grid ground, dramatic scalloped rim, and raised pedestal foot. The ornate Victorian design reflects the late-19th-century American pressed-glass industry, when elaborate molded tableware made decorative glass accessible to a wider range of households.This pattern was historically attributed to Canton Glass Company and is still frequently called “Canton Swan,” “Swan with Mesh,” or “Netted Swan” in older references and collector listings.
