Detailed Description & History - This is a beautiful, authentic piece of turn-of-the-century European porcelain history. During the peak 1900 to 1910 era of amateur and skilled porcelain artistry, high-quality white porcelain "blanks" were exported from Bavaria to be decorated by artists. We can confidently date this vase to Circa 1905 due to this, and two other strict historical markers: The Green Export Stamp- The basic, single-word "Bavaria" green mark became standard practice to comply with the U.S. McKinley Tariff Act of 1890 and peaked heavily between 1900 and 1914.WWI. Trade Disruption- Heavy trade and export routes for these porcelain blanks coming out of Germany to the West ground to a complete halt in 1914 with the onset of World War I.
Condition Report Overall Body: Very good antique condition. Absolutely no chips, cracks, or glaze crazing. The hand-painted colors remain exceptionally vibrant. Gilding / Inner Rim: There is normal, expected age wear to the thin gold line at the top inner rim, with approximately 60% of the interior gilding missing. Because this wear is located strictly on the inner lip, it is completely hidden from view when the vase is displayed at eye level and does not detract from the striking exterior artwork. The remaining 40% of the inner gold line is visible only upon close inspection looking down inside the neck. Please review all photos, and specifically of the inner lip to confirm the exact condition.
