Up for sale today is a set of vintage Avid BBDB cable actuated disc brakes. This listing is for everything that is pictured. The BBDB calipers are the predecessor to the BB7 brake. These brakes were removed in good working condition. They were installed on a bike that had IS disc brake tabs front and rear. The adaptors allow the use of 160mm rotors front and rear. The pads are metallic front and rear and have about half of their life left. The rotors are matching Avid front and rear and are 160mm in size. They still look like they have a good amount of life left. The rotors started out 1.8mm thick. One is now 1.65mm thick and the other is 1.73mm thick.The Avid BBDB MTB disc brakes were some of the best mechanical disc brakes on the market when they were created. The Avid BBDB brakes are super reliable and offer compatibility with long pull levers. Avid Tri-Align Caliper Positioning System (CPS) is easy to use for getting the perfect alignment. The strength of the Avid BBDB brakes will bring you peace of mind as you\'re zipping down the trail.
These brakes would make for a great upgrade for a vintage or retro build.
