Jim Salzer (1942 - 2020) promoted concerts with iconic bands and artistsin 1960s in Southern California and these posters are from his personalcollection, which includes both original printings and the only authorizedsecond printings (done in the early 1980s). Jim also started a record store,Jim Salzer’s Music Emporium, in Oxnard, CA in 1966. In 1972, he would build andmove to a 2 story free-standing store in Ventura, CA and change the name toSalzer’s Mercantile, a record store that also housed a number of differentvendors and shops from a barbershop to a soda fountain. The store continues ontoday as Salzer’s Records and is owned and operated by his wife Nancy and sonBrandon (who also maintains this storefront).
