This is an exceptionally rare prototype playfield from the 1987 Bally title: Heavy Metal Meltdown. This prototype features alternate artwork and a few extra holes where alternate mechanisms were likely experimented with. It\'s been in storage since we purchased it and it has likely never been used since removed from the factory prototype unit it was installed in nearly 40 years ago. It does have some wear but is in great condition given its age. A cheeky note from the Bally team can be found on the bottom, under the apron.
Reproductions of this playfield have never been made to our knowledge. And only a few examples of this prototype playfield are known to exist. In other words, this is a very rare item!
