Beauford Delaney Painting
Description…
Up for sale is a powerful, colorful portrait painting by American abstract figurative Artist; Beauford Delaney. showing a dazed man with cigarette in his mouth.
The image is made of many colors and heavy lines to sculpt the shape of the expression.
Delaney was part of the Harlem Renaissance, then his Green Street period, before moving to Paris.
I have found a similar portrait by Delaney, but the background is yellowish. This could be a work-up sketch or tribute painting.
A great addition to any art collection. not sure of the year of this painting, but seems to be dated 1968 next to the signature on front.
