This beautiful Dresden Plate quilt top is full of character, color and charm. I found it at an estate sale in Central California\'s Sierra Mountain foothills. This piece is a classic, unfinished vintage heirloom quilt top ready to be completed or displayed as is. Each of the 20 blocks measure 19 \" X 19 \" and features a vibrant Dresden Plate design, carefully handstitched and precisely appliqued using a variety of multi-colored 1930\"s-1940\'s cotton fabrics, florals, stripes and feed sack style prints. The cheerful mellow sunshine yellow centers and casings compliment the soft off-white background.
Quilt top only, no batting or backing and measures 84 \" long x 70 \" wide and is perfect for finishing into a fabulous vintage quilt, throw, wall hanging or using as a decorative textile. As noted, the quilt top is in great condition considering its age, allowing for a few pinpoint rust dots too small to photograph and some loose stitching along the unfinished edges. The stitching and applique have obviously been expertly executed by a master quilter.
