Beautiful hand-carved gourd art piece signed “Bertha Medina – Peru.” This rounded gourd vessel measures approximately 5\" tall and is richly decorated with an intricate village scene including people, animals, plants and geometric motifs. The artist has used deep carving and burned accents to create strong contrast and wonderful detail all the way around the gourd, topped with a stylized figure/hat finial.
Condition: Preowned folk art in good vintage condition with light wear from age and display. Surface shows some scattered small scuffs and rubs, with a few natural flaws in the gourd skin, but no major cracks or structural damage. Please review all photos to best judge appearance and condition.
