About This Piece
Offered here is a truly extraordinary piece of Hollywood history: the original “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” motion picture soundtrack LP on RCA Victor (LSP-2362, Living Stereo), hand-signed by four members of the film’s cast — including its legendary star, Audrey Hepburn.
The front cover features the iconic photograph of Hepburn as Holly Golightly in her little black Givenchy dress, pearl necklace, and tiara, gazing directly at the viewer with a cigarette holder poised between her fingers. The red sticker proudly announces: “Double Academy Award Winner — Best Scoring of Dramatic or Comedy Film • Best Song: Moon River.” Across this unforgettable image, four cast members have signed in black ink:
Audrey Hepburn — inscribed “Thank you” with her signature at bottom center, in her elegant, understated hand. George Peppard — a bold, sweeping signature in the upper right area near the RCA Victor logo. Mickey Rooney — signed in the upper right, near the title. Buddy Ebsen — a clean, flowing signature in the upper left area of the cover.
The back cover is equally remarkable, featuring a film strip border with stills from the movie, the full cast and crew credits (Directed by Blake Edwards, Screenplay by George Axelrod, Based on the Novel by Truman Capote), a portrait of composer Henry Mancini, and — strikingly — a personal letter from Audrey Hepburn to Mancini praising his score. The album was produced by Dick Peirce and recorded in Hollywood, California.

Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961) is one of the most beloved and culturally influential films in Hollywood history. Directed by Blake Edwards and based on Truman Capote’s 1958 novella, the film stars Audrey Hepburn in what has become her most iconic role: Holly Golightly, the enchanting, free-spirited New York socialite. George Peppard plays Paul Varjak, the struggling writer who becomes her neighbor and love interest. The supporting cast includes Patricia Neal as 2E, Buddy Ebsen as Holly’s estranged husband Doc Golightly, Martin Balsam as O.J. Berman, and Mickey Rooney as Mr. Yunioshi.
The film was a major commercial and critical success, earning two Academy Awards: Best Original Score for Henry Mancini’s unforgettable music, and Best Original Song for “Moon River” (lyrics by Johnny Mercer, music by Mancini). The opening scene of Hepburn eating a pastry outside the Tiffany & Co. store on Fifth Avenue in the early morning hours has become one of the most famous sequences in cinema. Her little black Givenchy dress from the film is considered the most iconic piece of clothing in movie history.
Henry Mancini’s soundtrack is a masterpiece of film scoring. “Moon River” — which Hepburn famously performed on a fire escape in the film — has become one of the most recorded songs in popular music history. The full soundtrack includes: “Moon River,” “Breakfast at Tiffany’s,” “Something for Cat,” “Sally’s Tomato,” “Mr. Yunioshi,” “The Big Blow Out,” “Hub Caps and Tail Lights,” “Latin Golightly,” “Holly,” “Loose Caboose,” “The Big Heist,” and “Moon River Cha Cha.” This is the Living Stereo pressing on RCA Victor, catalog number LSP-2362.

Born Joseph Yule Jr. on September 23, 1920, in Brooklyn, New York, he became one of the biggest box-office draws of the late 1930s and early 1940s, starring in the beloved Andy Hardy series opposite Judy Garland. Buddy Ebsen — Exemplars Examination
Buddy Ebsen was a versatile entertainer known for his remarkable range across seven decades in show business. Born Christian Ludolf Ebsen Jr. on April 2, 1908, in Belleville, Illinois, he began as a dancer on Broadway in the 1930s before transitioning to film and television. He is perhaps best remembered as Jed Clampett in The Beverly Hillbillies (1962–1971) and as the title character in Barnaby Jones (1973–1980). Ebsen was also famously cast as the original Tin Man in The Wizard of Oz (1939) before an allergic reaction to the aluminum makeup forced his replacement. He later achieved enormous television fame as Colonel John “Hannibal” Smith in The A-Team (1983–1987). His Questioned Autograph & Exemplars Examination sheet (dated December 21, 2021) shows the questioned autograph alongside three known exemplars, confirming the match. Peppard passed away on May 8, 1994, at the age of 65.
Why This Piece Is Exceptional
Breakfast at Tiffany’s is one of the defining films of 20th-century cinema, and Audrey Hepburn’s Holly Golightly is one of the most beloved characters in movie history. An original pressing of the Academy Award–winning soundtrack, signed by four members of the cast — including Hepburn herself with a personal “Thank you” inscription — is an exceptionally rare convergence of film, music, and autograph collecting.
All four signers have passed away: Audrey Hepburn in 1993, George Peppard in 1994, Buddy Ebsen in 2003, and Mickey Rooney in 2014. No new signatures from any of these performers can ever be added to the marketplace. Hepburn autographs in particular are among the most coveted in all of Hollywood memorabilia — she was famously selective about signing, and her combination of personal grace, humanitarian legacy (she served as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador from 1988 until her death), and enduring cultural iconography makes every authenticated Hepburn signature extraordinarily valuable. A signed Breakfast at Tiffany’s soundtrack with her personal inscription is a museum-quality piece that may never appear on the market again.
