Brunet, Jacques-Charles.
Manuel du Libraire et de l’Amateur de Livres.
Paris: Chez Silvestre, 1843–1844.
Complete five-volume set.
Standard mid-19th century edition of Brunet’s essential bibliographical reference, long regarded as one of the foundational tools of the antiquarian book trade.
Uniformly bound in contemporary leather over marbled boards. Spines with raised bands and gilt titling (now largely worn). Exterior leather shows flaking, rubbing, and loss consistent with age and use. Gilt decoration on boards mostly worn away, though impressions remain visible in places.
Text blocks are sound and internally clean, with typical age toning but no major defects noted. Bindings remain tight and functional.
A solid working set in worn period bindings.
