Cassock, clergy, black, J&M, made-to-measure in England, with cincture/fascia For Sale

This cassock was made to measure by J&M Sewing Service, Newcastle upon Tyne, about 4 years ago. It is in very good condition and is only being sold because it no longer fits the original purchaser. New, the cost of an equivalent garment would be upwards of $1K. It is a Latin-style cassock with 33 (plastic) buttons up the front, cuffs, 3 pleats across the back and 1 over each pocket (for a total of 5), a rounded collar with closed gap (to show only a little of the clerical collar worn beneath), and brush-braid protecting the hem, lined to the waist. A hook-and-eye keeps the collar neat. The back design is closer to a frock coat than to a \"sack\" coat, with four distinct panels making for a lovely shape (see photo). The overall style will be familiar to some as characteristic of St. Stephen\'s House, Oxford (colloquially, \"Staggers\"), though its use is far from exclusive to members of that institution. As far as I am aware, J&M are one of few makers, if not the only one, of this style. The cloth is 100% polyester hopsack. Not, perhaps, the most glamorous of materials, but it wears like iron, holds a crease well, and is nearly impossible to stain. Dry-clean only.
The coordinating cincture or fascia is made of Italian grosgrain (polyester), with hand-knotted fringe and button closure. There are two sets of buttons to accommodate fluctuations in the wearer\'s waist size; one set has been moved to allow for a larger waist but could easily be moved back. (Note that most fascia made nowadays, including by very reputable houses, have velcro closure.)
