Chamonix 45N-2 4×5 Large Format Field Camera – Serial No. 2261
Beautiful Chamonix 45N-2 large-format field camera constructed from teak wood and carbon-fiber composite components with gray-finished metal hardware.
The 45N-2 is Chamonix\'s lightweight 4×5 field camera and accepts Linhof-type lens boards. Chamonix lists the camera at approximately 1,550 grams (3.42 lb). Chamonix View Camera
Includes four 4×5 film holders, making this a nice starting setup for someone assembling a large-format system. A lens and lens board are not included.
Condition
This camera appears exceptionally clean and well cared for. The focusing mechanism and camera movements appear to operate smoothly, and the controls lock as expected. The bellows appear clean and intact on visual inspection.
I have not film-tested the camera or professionally tested the bellows for light-tightness. I have therefore tried to describe its condition conservatively. Please examine all photographs closely, as they are an important part of the description.
Included
• Chamonix 45N-2 4×5 camera body, serial no. 2261
• Ground glass/focusing screen
• Ground-glass protector
• Four 4×5 double-sided sheet-film holders (Fidelity and Burke & James)
No lens or lens board is included.
The film holders are included as pictured. I have not loaded or film-tested them and cannot verify them for light leaks, so they are included in their present condition.
This camera came from the personal collection of my late husband, Jim Kilroy of Barn Owl Cameras, a longtime professional camera repairman best known for his Hasselblad repair work. He maintained his photographic equipment carefully.
I hope it goes to someone who will appreciate and use it.
A Vanguard hard case that housed this outfit is also available separately; contact me before purchase if interested.
