Chinese famille rose porcelain vase, 13.5 inches tall, with a pale blue ground and finely decorated with birds amongst flowering branches, peonies and foliage. The vase has an unusual flattened pear-shaped body, rectangular neck and foot, and a pair of molded scroll-form handles.
The upper neck features a turquoise/green floral scroll border, while the foot is decorated with a turquoise and gilt geometric key-fret design.
The underside bears a six-character underglaze-blue Da Qing Kangxi Nian Zhi reign mark. The vase is being sold as a Kangxi-marked later Chinese porcelain vase; the mark should not be interpreted as a guarantee that the vase dates to the Kangxi period. Exact age has not been professionally authenticated.
Measurements: approximately 13.5\" / 34.3 cm tall.
Condition appears good overall from visual inspection. There is some age/use wear, minor enamel/gilt wear, small firing/glaze imperfections and discoloration/roughness around the unglazed foot rim. No obvious major cracks are visible in the photographs. Please examine all photographs carefully as they form part of the condition description.
