About the Artist – Franz von Bayros (1866–1924)
Franz von Bayros was an Austrian illustrator celebrated for his intricate Art Nouveau style and his daring, often risqué themes. A leading figure of the fin-de-siècle Vienna art scene, Bayros studied at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts and later in Munich, becoming part of the famed “Munich Secession.” His works, frequently issued in small, private editions, are sought after for their exquisite line work, decorative detail, and historical significance within early 20th-century erotic art.
