**ABDICATION ISSUE, 1st OFFICINA, STUNNING REVERSE**
Diocletian was the only Emperor in the history of the Roman Empire to willingly and peacefully lay down his diadem and abdicate from the throne; this specimen is from the 1st officina issued at Ticinum in early AD 305 and features one of the highest quality reverses currently known; the obverse is unfortunately quite worn when compared to the reverse, but is still easily identifiable and features some fine details, especially when held to the light; I will say that these photos do the coin no justice, I don’t like to use the term ‘better in hand’ as many sellers use that line to sell subpar coins, but this coin is genuinely much better in hand!
