EARLY The People\'s Common Sense Medical Adviser 1895 R.V Pierce Antique hospital
THE PEOPLE\'S COMMON SENSE MEDICAL ADVISER in PLAIN ENGLISH or MEDICINE SIMPLIFIED by R. V. PIERCE, MDPublished in 1895 by The World\'s Dispensary. Hardcover. Embossed cloth over board. Measures about 5.5\" x 8\". 1008 pages.
An early copy of a very cool and highly sought after book. It is very hard to find a copy this early. This book was updated and revised for decades. Part of it is dedicated to the Invalids\' Hotel in Buffalo, New York. Very cool illustrations of their medical tools, equipment, hospital rooms, and more. Cures, diagnosis, tobacco, opium, plants, physiology, biology and so much more! Lots of great plates and illustrations. Take a look into the medical knowledge and technology of the late 19t Century.
GOOD CONDITION: There is really only one significant condition issue with this beautiful copy. The front blank end page is missing and only a remnant remains. This has weakened that front hinge. But the hinge is still holding, though you will want to handle the front cover and the first half dozen pages or so carefully. The only other thing that I found was one dog-eared page and two facing pages that have small light brown oxidation stages where something was once there between the pages. Otherwise, the pages are in excellent condition for a book of this age. Please see all photos.
