Young’s atmospheric illustrations combine rich color, shadow, and dramatic page compositions to create one of the most memorable American picture books of the late twentieth century. Lon Po Po won the 1990 Randolph Caldecott Medal for the most distinguished American picture book for children.

Signed and dated by Ed Young on the title good or better overall. The dust jacket is bright and attractive, with strong color to the front panel. It has light rubbing, surface scuffing, and handling wear, most noticeable on the darker rear panel, along with minor edge and corner wear. The jacket is not price-clipped and does not have the later Caldecott Medal emblem.
The book is clean and solid, with bright blue endpapers and strong hinges. A previous owner’s address label is affixed to the front pastedown. The interior pages are clean and present Young’s illustrations beautifully. Signed and dated by Ed Young on the title page. Please review photographs for condition details.
