ConditionAcceptable to Good used condition as a mixed lot. These are working/reference copies with age, shelf wear, markings, and some front-matter damage.1. Engineering Mechanics — Cover shows age, fading, edge wear and some tearing. Front page has writing and a clipped/cut corner. Pencil writing appears on approximately 20 pages, with one or two pages showing light highlighting.
2. Electronically Controlled Proportional Valves: Selection and Application — Michael J. Tonyan — Relatively clean hardcover with a small cover nick. Upper-right portions of the first two pages are torn/cut. Some pencil notes, pen underlining and study markings are present; text remains readable. Copyright page and number line indicate First Edition / First Printing, 1985.
3. Mechanical Vibrations, Second Edition — W. T. Thomson — General shelf aging and wear with fingerprints/handling marks on the rear cover. One page tab remains. Light pencil writing on a few pages and approximately one or two highlighted pages.
4. What Every Engineer Should Know About Finite Element Analysis — John R. Brauer, editor — Shelf wear, surface scratches and bumped areas. Upper-right corner of first page has been cut. A few pages contain underlining and pencil notes.
5. Formulas for Stress and Strain, Fifth Edition — Raymond J. Roark & Warren C. Young — General shelf wear to boards and spine. A front page appears to have been removed. A couple of page tabs remain. Slight indentation along the outer edge of a number of pages. Light pencil markings and some underlining are present.
6. Applied Mechanics of Materials — Joseph E. Shigley — Normal hardcover shelf wear. Upper-right corner of first page is cut and another front page appears altered/removed. Some pencil writing and approximately two or three pages with underlining or colored marking. First-edition status appears likely but is not fully confirmed. No claim is made that the books are annotation-free or complete as originally issued regarding blank/front-matter pages. Main technical text remains usable based on inspection.Item DescriptionSix-book engineering reference lot covering a broad range of classic mechanical-engineering subjects, including stress and strain, mechanics of materials, vibration theory, finite element analysis, hydraulic proportional valves, and general engineering mechanics.Highlights include the 1975 Fifth Edition of Roark & Young’s Formulas for Stress and Strain, Shigley’s Applied Mechanics of Materials, W. T. Thomson’s Mechanical Vibrations, and Michael J. Tonyan’s 1985 First Edition / First Printing Electronically Controlled Proportional Valves. Tonyan’s volume is a specialized reference on electronically controlled hydraulic systems and proportional valves. These came from a working/study collection and show corresponding use. Several books contain pencil notes, underlining, tabs or occasional highlighting, and several have altered, clipped, torn or missing front-matter pages. They are best suited to an engineer, machinist, technical student, shop reference library, or collector who values the technical content over pristine cosmetic condition.
